Unfortunately I have to write this review since they refused to take accountability in person. The instructor Ms. Alex had the most aggressive demeanor since the moment I was taken back to a chair until the end. My stylist Griselda was absolutely a sweetheart and I honestly feel that she messed up my color because of Alex’s presence. Alex’s tone and words are harsh, defensive and narcissistic. I had to vocally tell her this as her energy was seriously disturbing me and therefore I did not want her touching me. Later on, as my color was being corrected, Alex brings the owner to me and in front of everyone tries to defend herself while gaslighting me by saying that I was judging her. Yes, energy does not lie. The owner has a very thick accent so I could barely understand her words but says something about Alex teaching the students well. Then says I can come to her office. (I never asked for the owner). I briefly tell her that Alex was being verbally aggressive and that is all. Instead of anyone apologizing for it, they say they are not perfect (missing the point). I asked Griselda if Ms Alex is always that way and she says “I’m used to it.” Thank goodness the instructor Ms Michelle took over as she was so kind and calm from the get go. This was the worst customer service experience I have ever seen. I am a psych nurse. You need therapy, Alex.

This place is extremely unprofessional! I have been trying to communicate with them for months regarding enrollment in their eyelash program. Britney, the program director, never responded to my calls or texts. I first reached out in September, and she only replied this month, casually asking if I was still interested—unbelievable.The director of the school personally spoke with me and even gave me his phone number, promising to help, but he also never responded. I called multiple times, and the person who answered the phone was completely unhelpful, always saying, “I don’t know” to everything.I am beyond disappointed because I genuinely wanted to enroll, but this entire experience has been a frustrating waste of time and energy.

Griselda did an amazing job on my shampoo and blow dry today! She was so professional and kind. I look forward to coming to see her for a color and haircut. Griselda you are so talented! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Started going here regularly. Keep in mind, it's a beauty school so everything takes a looooong time and the service hours are limited. However, the prices are a steal!My first visit was great. I asked for a fill and polish. The nail tech had experience and the students worked together to get the fill and the design.However, my next visit was a disaster. There was a brand new instructor who assigned a brand new student and the students were not allowed to collaborate to ensure a good outcome. I lost several nails within a week and decided to return and have them all removed.Thankfully, the new instructor no longer worked there and one of the long-term instructors insisted on making it right. I was given a completely new set of nails - free of charge. The nail tech took her time and did a pretty nice design - she stayed late since we were redoing everything top to bottom. I returned to her again and again until she graduated. She slowly persuaded me into longer nails and wilder designs. When there was time, I would get toes to match! Unfortunately, after graduation, she was based too far from me to go to her salon regularly.One time, I went for a haircut. That went well and the instructor gave clear advice to the student.I learned a lot about nails while sitting. I also found my favorite base color that has a built in shimmer. Designs were often inspired by what was happening around us. I saw someone getting a design that vaguely resembled a honeycomb. I thought it would be fun to get a bee design. My nail tech bought bee charms and created a really fun design around them. It is still my favorite design to-date!If you have the time and perfection is not a requirement, expect that they will fix any oddities and know the prices can't be beat!

Turning Point Beauty College, Phoenix location, was truly a life-changing experience for me! From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed and supported. Mrs. Nhu, the incredible owner, is so passionate about helping her students succeed. Her kindness, expertise, and dedication set the tone for the entire school. The teachers were equally amazing—knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we mastered the skills we needed. They created a learning environment that was both professional and fun, where I gained a top-notch education that has prepared me for a successful career in the nail industry.Not only did I learn so much, but I also made lifelong friendships with my classmates. The sense of community and encouragement at Turning Point Beauty College is unmatched.I would 100% recommend this school to anyone looking to start their beauty journey.
